Conveyor belt tracking: stop sideways drift methodically
Tracking describes where the conveyor belt runs from side to side. Tension describes how tightly it runs around its rollers. They influence each other, but they are not interchangeable. Before turning an adjuster, decide whether the belt is steadily migrating, has reached a stable position, or only looks crooked because the workpiece is moving.

Observe only from outside the guarded operating area using the test procedure in your manual. Record which belt edge moves toward which frame side. Distinguish the conveyor from the board riding on it. A board can turn while the belt remains stable, and that calls for a different investigation.
If an edge is rubbing, fraying, or approaching a pinch point, stop. Do not keep running the machine while searching for the correct wrench. Photograph the edge position after the conveyor has stopped so you can compare it with the next observation.
Inspect the baseline
Disconnect power before touching the conveyor, removing covers, or inspecting rollers. Look for edge damage, material buildup, displaced hardware, and an incorrectly seated replacement belt.
